The Importance of English

In today's society, English is one course that is required by all university programs, that someone needs in order to apply.  So I asked. Should grade 12 University level English be a requirement for entry into all university programs?

English is a course that teaches us how to read, write, how to properly use grammar, and many more.

Language

Without English, where would the world be.  English is a universal language that everyone knows, and allows you to communicate with people who live in a foreign country, where you don't speak the language.  The language is our primary way of interacting with others.  Without language there would be no communication between people, no way to share our thoughts and ideas with others around us.

It's a way that allows us to communicate with family members that we don't usually see.  Family that live in a different country.  Without the use of English we wouldn't be able too communicate with them, if you don't really speak or no how to really write in that language.

This picture shows us the countries where English is either a national language or an official language of the country.

Map of countries where English is either the national language or an official language.

English is an International Common Language

There are many things that make English a crucial language to learn, It is a fundamental language in communication.  It is the most familiar foreign language that allows you to interact with someone from lets say Italy, or Switzerland.

This picture shows you that English is a universal language that most countries speak based on a percentage system.

I believe that English should be required for entry into all university programs, but their should be an exception for some programs, such as French Teaching.  If you are going into a french program in university, I understand French being required for entry into university programs, but why English?  It makes no sense.
